ABOUT ME

I am Pastor Clive Salmon, and my loving wife Evangelist Nickesha Salmon, who has been with me in The M.F.C Church. I was born in Jamaica, in the District of Aberdeen, in the Parish of St. Elizabeth. I believe that I was born to win, born to serve God, and to live a life of mission with a God purpose.

“Living a life on mission” is to live on purpose, to fulfill the Great Commission, and to stand in the GAP. It reflects the heart of evangelism—reflecting Jesus and sharing the Gospel with those I come in contact with.

STAND FIRM

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

We all know that, as Christians, we will be challenged in our faith. We want to be able to STAND FIRM.

Sometimes the challenge comes in the form of temptation. The enemy knows exactly when to target us–when we’re at our weakest.  And he knows precisely what tempts us most.

Often, the challenge comes when the world’s way is counter-cultural to God’s way. We want to be accepted, and it’s difficult to always say or do the right things.

And, of course, we are challenged when we face trials that cut us to the bone–grief, loss, sickness, and disappointment can all lead us to waver in our belief.

First, we have to know upon what (or whom) we are standing.

Psalm 40:1-2

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings”.

Jesus is the Rock, and He is a firm place to stand. He is truth and His Word is truth (John 14:6, John 17:17).

“So then, brother and sisters, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.”2 Thessalonians 2:15. When your faith is challenged, remember that you stand on the Rock of Jesus Christ. His Word is a firm place to stand. He does not change like shifting shadows. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). So look to God and trust him and stand firm.
