ABOUT ME

I am Pastor Clive Salmon, and my loving wife Evangelist Nickesha Salmon, who has been with me in The M.F.C Church. I was born in Jamaica, in the District of Aberdeen, in the Parish of St. Elizabeth. I believe that I was born to win, born to serve God, and to live a life of mission with a God purpose.

“Living a life on mission” is to live on purpose, to fulfill the Great Commission, and to stand in the GAP. It reflects the heart of evangelism—reflecting Jesus and sharing the Gospel with those I come in contact with.

Sweet Aroma, Foul Odors

Smells, Perfumes,

one person’s sweet scent is another’s foul odor.

2Corinthians 2:14-17

14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

New Life Version (NLV)

14 We thank God for the power Christ has given us. He leads us and makes us win in everything. He speaks through us wherever we go. The Good News is like a sweet smell to those who hear it. 15 We are a sweet smell of Christ that reaches up to God. It reaches out to those who are being saved from the punishment of sin and to those who are still lost in sin.

16 It is the smell of death to those who are lost in sin. It is the smell of life to those who are being saved from the punishment of sin. Who is able for such a work? 17 We are not like others. They preach God’s Word to make money. We are men of truth and have been sent by God. We speak God’s Word with Christ’s power. All the time God sees us.”

Hosea 14:5-6

I will be like the dew to Israel;

He will blossom like the lily,

And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon.

His shoots will sprout,

And his beauty will be like the olive tree

And his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.

Isaiah 3:24

And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink (stench)

and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

International Standard Version

“And it will come about that instead of fragrance there will be a stench; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well-set hair, baldness; instead of a fine robe, sackcloth; and instead of beauty, shame.

Christ called us, teach us AND equip us with the power of the Holy Ghost in Christ.

Uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.

Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance/ perfume / cologne/ Aroma  /rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing.

To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom.

But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume.

Don’t be like some  who are crooked /dishonest/ shady /fraudulent who preach for personal profit.

We are to preach the word of God with sincerity, genuineness / honesty naturalness / honesty,  with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.

I pray God continue to expose all  demonic worshippers in our island worldwide, many leaders and some who are professing to be Christians are walking dead with a foul odor. Many are hiding behind the pulpit,

From the pit of sin  to pulpit

From pit of adultery and fornication to your platform

From pit of hell to your children, to your community

Many are in the pulpit but they are coming from the pit of hell

Either the word take sin from them

Or sin take the word from them

Revelation 2:20-25

20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

There is a  smells that are associated with  some.

  1. The pot  roast in the oven, you pass someone in the mall who’s wearing your favorite perfume.
  2. You stretch out on a newly fresh  lawn.
  3. The plumbing backs up into your sink.
  4. You’re face-to-face with someone who haven’t bath for a month and wearing the same cloth.
  5. You open up an old trash can on a hot and wet day.
  6. A person who don’t brush their teeth for one year.

Pleasant aromas and foul odors.

How do these smells compare to our Christian lives?

If we were to describe ourself in one of these terms, which would it be?

God uses Christians to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, and We must be like a fragrance that fills the air. It’s not that we smell funny and people sniff, look around, and comment, “Hmm, I smell a Christian.”

People do, however, notice how we live. We have a great responsibility to represent God in all we do and say.

Think about It

God’s truth brings hope to many people. To them, faith smells good.

Others will be convicted by the aroma.

To some people who don’t want to hear the truth, our faith may smell bad to them because it makes them feel guilty.

The word of God says, in 2 Corinthians 2:16.  “To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life”

(How people respond is not our concern. Our responsibility is to be the fragrance of God and to make a difference in our enviroment, neighborhoods, communities, and world.

The success of the gospel bring different effects upon several sorts of persons to whom it is preached. The success is different; for some are saved by it, while others perish under it.

(1) Unto some the gospel is a savour of death unto death. Those who are willingly ignorant, and willfully stubborn, corrupt the gospel they are blind and hardhearted: They are not walking and carrying a Sweet Aromas, they are walking and carrying a Foul Odors,

The gospel stirs up their corruptions, and irritates their spirits. They reject the gospel, to their ruin, even to spiritual and eternal death.

. (2.) Unto others the gospel is a savour of life unto life. To humble and gracious souls the preaching of the word is most delightful and profitable.

It is sweeter than honey to the taste, so it is more grateful than the most precious odors, it is   profitable to the soul and spirit.  It  quickened your body, heal your spirit, and give you a sweet spirit, sweet anointing. it makes us lively, it destiny is eternal life.

Pray About It

Thank you, Lord, for trusting me with the task of spreading your Good News. I want to take this responsibility seriously. Allow my life to be known by the fragrance of what I do and say.
