(1) A biblical Canon of scripture is a set of texts which a particular Jewish or Christian religious community which is the trusted truth of the scripture. The term “CANON” comes from the Greek “Kanon” meaning “rule” or “measuring stick” or measuring rod use for making straight line.
(2) The Canon: This is the yardstick, rule or measurement of acceptable truth from what the Prophets had said at different times. Ephesians 4:13; Zechariah 2:1

The Old Testament are written in ARAMAIC and HEBREW
The New Testament was written in GREEK with a few ARAMAIC words or phrases.
ARAMAIC
Talitha cumi meaning “Damsel, I say unto thee, arise!” (Mark 5:41)
Ephphatha meaning “Be opened.” (Mark 7:34)
Abba meaning “Father” (Mark 14:36)
Raca meaning “fool” (Matthew 5:22)
Rabbouni meaning “teacher” (John 20:16)
Eli Eli lama sabachthani meaning “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
Hosanna meaning “O Lord, save us.” (Mark 11:9)
There are other words and names that have a clearorigin of Aramaic, but it’s not known whether they are strictly from Aramaic or biblical Hebrew. Some examples of these are: Mammon, Bartholomew, Barabbas, Gethsemane, and Golgotha.
In Old Testament time the:

Romans speak Latin {Latin and Greek official languages}
Greece speak Greek

What is the reason for studying the CANON?
✓ To know the foundation of our faith
✓ To know about the Authors
✓ To study the Bible
✓ To study about the existence of the bible
Note: Jesus Christ and his Disciples did not read the New Testament.
✓ The Old Testament were read by the disciples of Jesus Christ by perspective (Viewpoint) of the Messiah will soon come. St. John 1 : 45 – 51 ; Matthew 5:17
✓ The New Testament was not in place until 200 years after Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead.
✓ Paul did not know that his writings would have been included in the CANON See Luke 1:1 and Acts 1:1
Oral Tradition
✓ Oral Tradition was the means of proclaiming the Gospel before the New Testament
✓ The New Testament was finally compiled 300 yrs. after Christ died and rose from the dead.
